Benjamin Moore October Mist is a mid tone shaded sage green. Is it right for your space? Keep reading to find out.

October Mist is one of my favorite colors for bedroom or living room walls. It is dark enough to create a cozy space and has just enough gray to feel soft without being too moody. Did you know since green is the dominant color we see in nature we find it inherently relaxing?

What does October Mist pair well with? For woodwork and trim use a soft creamy white like Benjamin Moore White Dove or Soft Chamois for a more traditional space or a crisp white like Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace for cleaner look. For accents, fabrics and accessories use other earthy tones of terra cotta, pumpkin, linen or cream. Green and any type of wood tone to hand-in-hand as do touches of warm brown leathers, brass or metallic gold.

With an LRV (Light Reflective Value) of 46.54, October Mist is definitely on the darker side so it's perfect for making large, well lit rooms feel more intimate. The green tones will be more noticeable in south facing rooms or rooms with a lot of natural light. In north facing rooms, October Mist cooler with a more pronounced gray undertone.

In this bedroom, October Mist pairs beautifully with light tones in the furniture and lighting. I love the contrasting black fireplace surround, white floor and natural rug.

October Mist can also make a great cabinet paint color. It's just green enough to add color to the kitchen but still has enough of a gray undertone to feel neutral. Pair with crisp white uppers and satin black hardware for a more modern space or soft white with brass for more of a cottage/farmhouse vibe.

Shades of green are soothing to our eyes so we find them naturally relaxing. This home office space pairs October Mist walls with crisp white furniture and clean lines for a modern take on this more traditional color.

Warm welcome. These mudroom cabinets painted in Benjamin Moore October Mist are combined with brass hardware, a high contrast floor pattern and lot of farmhouse touches for an inviting space.
